Jesse Lee Chappell

Jesse Lee Chappell, 79, of Mount Gilead, went to his eternal home with his Savior, Jesus Christ, early Tuesday morning, February  14, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, February 17, 2017 at Stoney Fork Baptist Church.  Rev.  Terry Burris and Rev. Daniel Chappell will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday evening February 16, 2017 at Edwards Funeral Home in Mount Gilead. 

Mr. Chappell was born June 21, 1937 in Richmond County to the late Jessie Chappell and Gertie Harrison Chappell.  He was an employee of McRae Industries and Lankford Security Services. He was an active member of Stoney Fork Baptist Church.                

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, VirginiaThompson Chappell, October 9, 2014;  daughter, Deborah Chappell;  brother, Clyde Chappell and sisters, Dorothy Lammonds and Sophie Burroughs. 

He is survived by his sons, Lennie Chappell (Donna) of Greenville, SC and Jeffery Chappell of Mount Gilead; daughters, Donna Morgan (Keith) of Norwood and Emily McCleney (Brian) of Chadbourn; grandchildren, Daniel Chappell (Emily), Aaron Chappell, Jesse Chappell, Jessica Morgan, Hannah Morgan, Joshua McCleney, Austin McCleney and Emma Grace McCleney; great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Judah, Rowan and Aavrey; twin sister, Lola Sneed(Bob) of Mount Gilead; many nieces and nephews.

The family will gather at the home of Donna Morgan, 224 Lehue Drive, Norwood, NC
