Jean (Dancy) Courtney

Jean Dancy Courtney 76 of Norwood died Monday Afternoon, February 19, 2018 at her home.

Her Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Josh Phillips, Rev. Marshall Honeycutt and Rev. Nathan W. Fox will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Courtney was born July 26, 1941 in Wilkes County, North Carolina to the late Ira Glenn and Grace Williams Dancy. She was a retired Manager for Wal-Mart and a member of Memorial Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband Larry Walker Courtney of the home. Five Children, Greg Cardwell of Wilkesboro, Keith Cardwell of West Field, Cyndi Jarvis of Wilkesboro, Bryan Courtney of Williamsburg, VA, Anne Hinders of Williamsburg, VA.  Two brothers, Harold Dancy (Linda) and Ronnie Dancy (Cookie) all of Thomasville. Two sisters, Shirley Bishop of Thomasville and Barbara Ward of High Point. Seven Grandchildren, Eight Great-Grandchildren and One Great-Grandson.

She was preceded in death by two grandsons Josh and Michael.
