James Edward Maske, 77, of Albemarle, passed away on Friday February 2, 2018 at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday February 5, 2018 at 2:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Kinney Wallace will officiate and burial will follow at Norview Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Maske was born on December 11, 1940 in Anson County to the late L.B. Maske and Gracie Bernice Ramsey. He was a retired guard with the NC Department of Corrections.
Around town, you would always know James by his big Black Hat. He loved going to Wal-Mart and Bojangles to visit and talk with friends. For years, he raised and hunted with his Beagles, which is something he really enjoyed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Tim Maske and his sister, Ella Brent.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Surratt Maske of the home; granddaughter Courtney Rae Clark (Daniel) of Albemarle; two great grandchildren: Alivia and Leelin Clark; former daughter-in-law, Angela Lucas (Joe); his brother: David Maske (Gail) of St. Augustine FL.; and sisters: Carolyn Rody (Russell) of Kernersville, Emil Thomas (Wally) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Sara Bazinet of Atlanta GA.
