Christopher ‘Chris’ Joel Coone, 28, of Norwood, passed away on Tuesday May 23, 2017.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 27, 2017 at 12:00PM at Norwood Center Rural Fire Department. Rev. Mike Lisk will officiate and burial will follow at Norview Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday May 26, 2017 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.

Chris was born on November 27, 1988 in Cabarrus County to Fred and Tina Shoemaker Coone. He attended SSHS in the 2007 class. He worked for the town of Norwood as the crew leader for the water and sewer department. Chris was a member and volunteer fireman for 13 years at Norwood Center Rural Fire Department, #5620. He also was a volunteer fireman for Mt. Gilead Fire Department, #256. Chris was hardworking and reliable. He was dedicated to his town and was a loving, husband, father, son, brother, and friend.  

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife Ashley Ann Watters Coone, of the home; two daughters: Emma May and Kaydee Marie Coone; two brothers: Bradley James and Cody Justin Coone, of Norwood; one grandfather James Shoemaker, of Concord; Uncle and Aunt James and Terri Shoemaker, also of Concord; one cousin (little sister) Jessica Shoemaker of Concord; mother-in-law Tammy Webb, of New London and father-in-law, Jeff Watters of Mt. Gilead.
