Betty (Killian) Parsons

Betty Killian Thompson Parsons, 85, of the Thickety Creek Community passed away early Monday morning, March 13, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Holly Mount Baptist Church.  Rev. Ben Hall will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, Wednesday evening, March 15, 2017 at Edwards Funeral Home in Mount Gilead.

Mrs. Parsons was born April 4, 1931 in Gaston County to the late Robert Henry and Florence Webb Killian.  She was a retiree of Russell Harvell of Mount Gilead.  She was a very active member of Holly Mount Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.  The family feels very blessed to have had her as a mother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dalphine Thompson and second husband, Walton Parsons.  She was also preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.

She is survived by her son, Steve Thompson and wife Marie; daughters, Cynthia Thompson and Vicki McDowell and husband Randy all of the Thickety Creek Community;  five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
