Betty Ann (Blalock) Hatley

Betty Blalock Hatley, 59, of Norwood, surrounded by her loving family, passed away Saturday evening, July 8, 2017 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood. Rev. Donnie Morris and Rev. Nathan Fox will officiate. Interment will follow at Norview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday evening at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.

Mrs. Hatley was born on April 29, 1958, to the late Joseph Adam and Margie Brewer Blalock.  She was a faithful member of Peachland Gospel Tabernacle Church.  She sewed for Cassie Catillion.  Her love for her Lord showed in her enjoyment of giving to others.  She loved working in her flowers and quilting.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her foster parents, Harold and Louise Lee; and seven brothers.

She is survived by her husband of the home, Chad Edward Hatley; daughter, Candy Burris Mabry (Shellie Gene) of Albemarle and son, Daniel Edward Hatley of Norwood; sisters and brothers, Janice Locklear (Mark) of Norwood,  Buster Blalock of Albemarle, Shirley Lee of Tennessee, and Kevin Lee of Charlotte.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice, 120 N Main St, Troy, NC 27371.

The family would like to especially thank Barbara Lowder, Karen Hungarter, Tammy Swink, and all of the many friends and family that have helped with Betty’s care.
