Barry Watkins

Oscar Barry Watkins 53 of Norwood died Saturday, May 22, 2017.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Bennettsville AME Zion Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Watkins was born May 2, 1964 in Stanly County to Oscar Lee Watkins of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Flora Ann Watkins of the home. He was educated in Stanly County Schools and was a 1982 Graduate of South Stanly High School. He was a member of Bennettsville AME Zion Church.

Oscar “Barry” was well known and loved by all. He was a stranger to none and will be remembered for his love of sports.

In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother Audie Lamar Watkins of Queens, New York. His Aunts Denise Watkins of Norwood and Cassie Carruth of Virginia Beach, Virginia. His Uncles, Homer Watkins of Monroe and Trudell Watkins and Ronnie Watkins both of Norwood, Nieces and Nephews and a host of Cousins and Friends
