Barbara (Knight) Joiner

Barbara Joice Knight Joiner, 85, of Chadbourn, formerly of Norwood, passed away Friday morning, March 17, 2017.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00PM, Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Norview Gardens, Norwood, NC.  Rev. Ron Dry will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 prior to the service t Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.

Mrs. Joiner was born November 18, 1931 in Wellborn, Florida to the late Theron Alexander Knight and Annette Blanton Knight. 

Mrs. Joiner was a devoted wife to a career Navy man, she could pack and move a house and family on a moment’s notice; she did so from Florida to California to South Dakota to Hawaii and back to Florida again.  She was a caring, nurturing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Her hobbies included sewing, walking, NASCAR, and working in the garden and yard.

She leaves a legacy of faith in God and family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of 40 years, Donald Earl Joiner, Sr.; brothers, Ronald, “Petey-boy” Knight, Harold Gene Knight, Jack W. Knight and sister, Eudine Knight Lennon.

She is survived by her children, Don Joiner of Greensboro, Sherry Harward (Byron) of Norwood, Debra Brown(John) of Mocksville; grandchildren, Matt Thompson(Kelly) of Thomasville, Kelly Caudle(Dustin) of Norwood and Christopher Brown(Olivia Gregory) of Mocksville; great-grandchildren, Hunter Thompson, Zane Thompson, Kendrix Caudle and Ian Caudle.
