Edwards Funeral Home was opened in Norwood in October 1984. A family owned and operated funeral home, we take pride in offering our families caring and compassionate services arranged to meet the wishes of each individual family. Our Norwood facility is large and welcoming with a home-like atmosphere. In June 2002 we completed the addition of a chapel, adding to the conveniences we have to offer our families.

Edwards Funeral Home of Mt. Gilead began serving the families of Montgomery County in February 2002 with the purchase of McKeithan Funeral Home. Community response to this change has been encouraging and we look forward to serving our families there and completing the many improvements we have planned for this facility.

My wife, Cindy, and I are natives of Norwood, graduates of South Stanly High School and live on Lake Tillery. We have 4 children: Hallie is a student at NCState, Lucy and her husband, Mason Crump, are residents of Norwood and Lucy is an RN at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Kenzie is a student at Norwood Elementary School where Cindy teaches, Taylor is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and is teaching in Mecklenburg County Schools.
